Mechanical Systems Testing & Balancing (MSTB) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Commissioning Professional to join our growing team. We specialize in providing commissioning services for a diverse range of projects, including large-scale commercial, institutional, and government buildings. As a Commissioning Professional, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that building systems are designed, installed, and operated to meet the highest standards of performance, efficiency, and sustainability.

What You'll Do:

  • Review and analyze project owner requirement documents, plans, specifications, and design documents.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of building systems (mechanical, electrical power, plumbing, fire protection, building automation, access control, building enclosure) to identify and document any deficiencies.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning test plans and procedures.
  • Generate detailed reports documenting commissioning activities, findings, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, contractors, and building owners to resolve commissioning issues and ensure project success.
  • Stay current on industry codes, standards, and best practices.

What You Bring:

  • License and/or Certification: Must be a Certified Commissioning Professional or Licensed Engineer.
  • Technical Proficiency: Background in one or more of the following disciplines: building enclosure, mechanical, electrical power, plumbing, and/or fire protection/detection systems.
  • Field Experience: Hands-on experience in commissioning, construction inspection, validation, measurement and verification, or a related field within the A/E/C industry. Minimum of 4 years of commissioning experience required.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear and concise reports.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Construction Management Software, and Commissioning Software platforms.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to navigate active construction sites, including walking, climbing ladders, and occasional usage of lifts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred but not required. Applicants with the appropriate construction/field experience are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with LEED or other sustainability certifications.
  • Familiarity with building codes and industry standards.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain military base clearance
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%. Travel to be primarily local with limited overnight stays.
  • No sponsorships are currently offered.
