Behavioral Aide

We are hiring a Behavioral Aide & Transportation Support Specialist to assist children and families under the care of the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS). This position is crucial in providing both behavioral management support and safe, reliable transportation to children who may have experienced trauma.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport children to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, school, and family visits.
- Provide one-on-one behavioral support during transportation and appointments.
- Implement de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement strategies to manage behaviors.
- Communicate effectively with caseworkers, caregivers, and other support staff about child progress and any incidents observed.
- Maintain detailed records of transportation schedules, child behavior, and any incidents during travel.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience working with children, especially those with behavioral challenges.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
