Position Summary:

Are you ready to lead the way in dental education and patient care? As the Dental Practice Team Director, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the administrative, clinical, and educational initiatives of Roseman University’s College of Dental Medicine (CODM) clinics.

In this dynamic position, you’ll manage and direct patient care across our innovative Team-Based Student Clinics, ensuring a seamless flow of over 150 appointments each day You’ll leverage data to balance patient care among student teams, follow up on referrals, and assign roles each week to keep our clinics running smoothly.

You’ll also take charge of approving and tracking student absences, managing clinical coverage, optimizing chair utilization, and maintaining patient rosters. Your leadership will ensure that students adhere to standard operating procedures, clinical policies, and guidelines in line with university, CODM, and federal and state regulations.

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with Patient Care Leaders and the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and Patient Care to ensure that efficient team-based delivery of care is performed according to established protocols.
  • Responsible for all student clinical assignments and roles.
  • Oversee and coordinate student and patient schedules daily.
  • Facilitates team meetings.
  • Works with Patient Care Leaders and Clinical Faculty in managing and distributing patient care.
  • Collect and interpret clinical progress data to evaluate students’ experiences in patient care in a team-based system.
  • Oversee, monitor and distribute patient care evenly for the clinical practice teams in the CODM student clinics.
  • Supervises and manages student clinical attendance, chair utilization, and clinic coverage.
  • Communicate information from the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and Patient Care to faculty, students, and staff in regards to clinical affairs and patient care matters.
  • Present student and/or patient concerns to the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and Patient Care.
  • Assure the quality of patient care is in accordance with Roseman CODM protocols, SOP’s, and Policies.
  • Conduct Chart Audits to assure accurate Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation.
  • Manage patient treatment plan progress toward completion.
  • Carefully monitor comprehensive treatment plans for correct phasing and sequencing.
  • Oversee daily team huddles with faculty, students, and staff prior to the start of clinic sessions to map-out strategies for providing team-based patient care.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, 1-3 years’ experience in an orthodontic or dental/medical office, or any combination of education, experience and training which provides the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
  • Experience working in a large group practice setting utilizing a team-based philosophy of care and the ability to manage a large volume of patients is preferred.
  • Administrative experience required.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Conflict resolution experience.
