Prep cook/dish
About 30 hours a week needed at a upscale dining restaurant: someone willing to wear two hats: as a prep cook who will handle receiving, food labeling, food storage, dinner prep before service; dishwashing during service. Must know how to handle food and how to bus. This is a small team, so it is an opportunity to grow if you have dreams of training/learning and growing your skills in the kitchen and on the line.
Schedule may shift with the seasons depending on restaurant demands, but generally, flexible weekly shifts/ hours needed will be about 3-4 shifts a week: including Wednesday days; and then Thursday Friday and Saturday pm shifts for dinner service.
Responsibilties will be receiving/labeling, storing incoming deliveries, prep as per chef’s needs; dishwashing; bussing when needed; helping with washing and prep of vegetables and produce or other basic prep duties chef may need; polishing glassware when needed; and keeping the kitchen and prep area after service to sanitation codes and standards.
This is a great opportunity to learn under an executive chef who runs a small kitchen and wants everyone on their team to wear all the hats; to also be part of the cooking team; if you have the ambition to move from prep to something more, this is a great opportunity.
