Who You Are:

We are seeking an experienced culinary professional who is looking to cook excellent food with classic technique. The person filling this role will be part of an exciting new opening for a fine dining, French restaurant. Our team has been mostly filled out with a group of very talented individuals spanning many of the best restaurants in NYC from Per Se, Naro, Blue Hill and more. We are looking for one or two more members with hot line experience from Michelin/2-star or more NYTimes rated restaurants to join our team for an anticipated opening in December. This role would be for immediate hire. Our cook role will give you a lot of time to work directly with our Executive Chef and management team to see how a business is developed and grown from the beginning. 

This will be a brigade-style kitchen with a clearly outlined hierarchy and honest communication. Members of the opening team will have the opportunity to help define the language, systems and culture of a new restaurant. As this is a restaurant opening, flexibility in schedule will be required with strong growth and financial opportunities being offered to candidates who are pivotal to our success. The job will be full-time, Tuesday to Saturday, working nights with an average of 40-45 hours per week.


 

 

Job Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of hot line position in a fine dining establishment
  • Knife skills, plating techniques, sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Set of personal tools including but not limited to: chef knives, petty knife, slicer, chefs tools, etc. 
  • Ability to learn and follow recipes to execute dishes and prep
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take feedback well
  • Maintain safe, sanitary and organized work stations as outlined by your supervisor and the Department of Health
  • Lift and carry 30+ pounds
  • Ability to work long hours standing, shifts will last up to 10 hours
