Position: CNC Machinist

Shift: 1st or 2nd shift

Location: Minneapolis, MN

As a Machinist, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of both CNC and manual machining equipment. Your focus will be on producing high-quality parts within close tolerances while adhering to strict safety and quality standards.

Pay Types:

  • Voluntary weekday and weekend overtime available.
  • Saturday pay is at time and a half; Sundays are at double time

Job Type:

  • Full-time (Union)
  • Monday – Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm or 3:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.

CNC Machinist Key Responsibilities:

  • Machine high-quality parts within specified tolerances using CNC and manual machines.
  • Interpret routing information to determine the sequence and method of machining.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on setup, machining, and tooling.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
  • Utilize electric and pneumatic hand tools for various tasks.
  • Deburr and clean parts by hand.
  • Complete necessary QA/customer documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Lift and move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, or jib cranes.
  • Commit to Continuous Improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities in daily work.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Standards and adhere to OSHA and EPA regulations.

CNC Machinist Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 2-year machining degree or a high school diploma with a minimum of 3 years of equivalent machining experience.
  • Proficient in reading design prints and understanding geometric design & tolerancing (GD&T) and surface finish requirements.
  • Experience operating CNC machinery, vertical turret lathes, boring mills, engine/turret lathes, radial/horizontal drilling machines, and grinders.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and the ability to make basic edits as necessary.
  • Capability to operate equipment such as key-seaters, broaches, band saws, sanding tools, and hydraulic presses.
  • Knowledge of carbide tooling and feeds and speeds for machining applications.
  • Ability to become certified in overhead crane, jib crane, and forklift operation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently ascend/descend ladders and stairs.
  • Occasionally work at heights or on platforms.
  • Position self in various workspaces, including tight or confined areas.
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for extended periods.
  • Perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, or fingers to operate machinery or tools.
