Data Scientist

Location: Norwell, MA

Contract Duration: 12 months (with potential for extension or direct hire)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift

Compensation: $45–$55/hour (optional PTO and benefits)

Onboarding Requirements: Background check and drug screen

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist with a background in chemistry/environmental science to join our team. The ideal candidate will prepare analytical chemistry data for database integration while ensuring accuracy and maintaining data integrity.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Extract and transform analytical chemistry data from public sources into spreadsheet templates for database integration.
  • Apply deep knowledge of analytical chemistry data and methods to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide technical expertise in analytical chemistry to support the data management team.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure data integration, quality, and integrity.
  • Collaborate effectively with both business and technology teams.
  • Work independently and deliver results while maintaining accountability.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a similar Discipline.
  • Experience: 5+ years of analytical data management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with collaborative skills.
  • Critical thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Full-time availability (40 hours/week preferred), though part-time arrangements (20–30 hours/week) may be considered.

 

Additional Details

  • Contract Period: 1 year, with the potential for extension.
  • Work Arrangement: Norwell, MA office (on-site or hybrid office/home options available).
