Head of Growth Product
Octave is a modern behavioral health practice creating a new standard for care delivery that's both high-quality and accessible. With in-person and virtual clinics in multiple states, the company offers evidence-based individual, couples, and family therapy, while pioneering relationships with payers to make care more affordable through insurance. By raising the bar on how care is delivered and how providers are supported, we are building a sustainable system that values equity, affordability, and effectiveness.
Job Summary:We are seeking a Head of Growth Product to lead product-led growth strategy and execution focused on growing Octave's user acquisition, engagement, and retention. In this role, you will collaborate closely with marketing, product, data, design and engineering teams to ideate, develop and optimize growth initiatives, including A/B testing, therapy client funnel improvements, and feature experiments. The ideal candidate will ensure alignment between product development and business goals to maximize filling therapist caseloads, scalability, and long-term success.
Responsibilities Include:- Lead the strategy and execution of product initiatives to drive user growth, engagement, and retention for the company.
- Partner with marketing, product, data, design, and engineering teams to identify and implement growth opportunities:
- Push boundaries through experimentation and innovation to unlock new opportunities for growth.
- Champion a scrappy, startup mindset: prioritize speed to insights and impact, which may require wearing multiple hats, doing own analysis and research, willingness to take big swings (vs. smaller iterative changes).
- Design, run, and analyze experiments (e.g., A/B tests) to optimize user acquisition and conversion funnels.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the user journey using quantitative, qualitative insights and usability testing.
- Continuously monitor key growth metrics to evaluate and iterate on strategies, adapting to changing market conditions and user behaviors.
- Prioritize and manage the development of new features or optimizations that impact growth.
- Ensure growth experiments align with user flows and customer experience principles, minimizing friction points across touchpoints.
- Provide thought leadership on infrastructure needs (e.g., testing and analytics tools, UX page builders, aspects of martech, etc).
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure product efforts align with business goals and user needs.
- Empathize with users (patients and providers) to design experiences that meet their needs while ensuring compliance with healthcare policies. This includes direct user testing & research to validate ideas prior to development.
- Opportunity to work independently or manage a small team of product managers in a player-coach format (75% player, 25% coach).
- 8+ years of experience in consumer product management, growth roles, or product-led growth.
- Proven track record of leading new product experimentation iterating quickly to meet growth objectives.
- Demonstrated individual wins on improving funnel conversion and user retention.
- Previous startup experience required, comfortable in fast-paced environments with limited resources.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data tools like SQL, Google Analytics, and experimentation platforms.
- Ability to influence and gain commitment across cross-functional teams and with leadership.
- Experience in healthcare, digital health, or mental health services preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to align multiple stakeholders and drive execution, especially at leadership level.
- Empathy for mental health patients and providers with an understanding of health compliance and regulatory policies.
Bonus: Experience conducting user research to inform experimentation and product development.
Octave's Company Values:The below values drive our day-to-day operations.
- We're human beings first. We operate with empathy and kindness – with our clients, with our collaborators, and with ourselves.
- People deserve better than status quo. We're willing to tackle the intractable problems, no matter how big, because someone should. We ask big questions, we craft big solutions, and we challenge ourselves and others to make it happen.
- No bystanders. No stars. No tourists. Each person has been selected to be here, and with that comes a responsibility to bring your expertise, share your ideas, and help make this company better.
- Partnership paves the path ahead. We don't operate in a silo, internally or externally. To transform the system, we believe in working with others to create something bigger, better, and stronger.
- Quality is crucial at scale. Quality is core to our business, and we refuse to sacrifice it as we grow.
- Progress is a process. In the pursuit of progress, we iterate, reflect, learn, adjust – and always leave things better than we found them.
- There are people behind every data point. We recognize that numbers tell only one part of the story, and we also do the work to understand impacts at the individual level
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to frequently communicate with others through virtual meeting applications such as Zoom and Google Meet.
- Must be able to observe and communicate information on company provided laptop.
- Move up to 10 pounds on occasion.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
