Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Automation Controls Engineer to join a rapidly growing manufacturing facility with a strong background in Allen Bradley PLCs, robotics, and mechatronics, as well as the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and enhance control systems to ensure high-quality manufacturing operations.

In this role, you will collaborate with a skilled engineering team to optimize the performance of automated systems, implement control strategies, and ensure equipment reliability. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and diagnosing complex automation issues, programming PLCs (preferably Allen Bradley), and working with robotics to improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair issues with PLCs, robotics, and other automation equipment to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Develop and modify PLC programs using Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, S7/Step7, and other relevant software tools.
  • Work alongside other engineers and production teams to design, implement, and improve automation solutions for various manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze and optimize control systems, including servos, robotics (e.g., Kawasaki robotics), and cognitive equipment to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, troubleshooting procedures, and system modifications. Provide technical documentation to support ongoing training and operational processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation upgrades, including potential cost-saving initiatives and efficiency gains.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of hands-on experience with industrial automation systems, including Allen Bradley PLCs (RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500).
    • Experience with robotics (Kawasaki or similar), mechatronics, and servo systems is highly preferred.
    • Experience troubleshooting and modifying control systems.
    • Knowledge of automation systems, including cognitive equipment, SLKS, and S7/Step7.
  • Skills:
    • Strong ability to program and troubleshoot PLC systems.
    • Experience with robotic automation and mechatronics.
    • Ability to understand and apply control theory and electrical schematics.
    • Familiarity with safety protocols and compliance standards related to industrial automation.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
