East Tennessee Diagnostic Center is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team As a CT Technologist, you will play a crucial role in the treatment of cancer patients, utilizing advanced technology and techniques to deliver precise radiation therapy. SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist performs direct patient care within the scope of the technologist role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Perform required CT procedures through proper positioning and technique, consistently demonstrating good judgment in evaluating the diagnostic CT study.
  2. Screen patient before exams for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examination (i.e., diabetes, etc.)
  3. Thoroughly explain procedure to patient. Monitor the condition of any patients and assist the radiologist in performing any needed medical attention.
  4. Administer contrast, when applicable, and always follow proper infection control practices.
  5. Recognize allergic reactions and respond in accordance with company policies and procedures for emergent patient care.
  6. Maintain the equipment in good working order. Clean and disinfect equipment and area as specified in policies and procedures. Maintain work area in an orderly manner. Report any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to the manager.
  7. Prepare examination for interpretation by the radiologist. Include appropriate clinical history and previous studies for comparison.
  8. Assist with patient scheduling, clinical qualification and payor qualification of the patient prior to the arrival of the patient at the center.
  9. Conduct examinations with regard to the patient’s age, condition and any special requirements.
  10. Assure excellent service is provided to patients, referring physicians, their staff and other employees at the center.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • HS diploma required.
  • R.T. (R) (CT) ARRT
  • Active State license.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Venipuncture skills.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of relevant software.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent technical, clinical and academic areas to produce consistent high-quality examinations.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Provide “Red Carpet” level patient care.
  • Provide top quality CT exams for radiologist interpretation.
  • Work independently but in a team environment.

RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports to the Manager of Imaging services.
  • Will have daily interactions with radiologist, staff members, staff technologists, patients and family members.
