Job DescriptionJob Description

Top manufacturing company in Fairfield County has an immediate opening for a Tax Director. This critical position involves steering the tax team and working closely with other executives to implement US corporate tax strategies and identify ways to reduce corporate tax obligations, complying with all relevant tax laws and guidelines.


Duties:

• Supervise a group of tax specialists as the Director of Tax

• Oversee all elements of federal and state income, franchise, property, sales & use, and global aspects from a US viewpoint

• Track and assess tax return preparations and confirm punctual tax payment

• Lead the tax division for fiscal planning purposes

• Conduct tax evaluations and offer assistance for operational procedures and projects

• Serve as a go-between for external tax consultants concerning all federal, state, and local tax issues

• Analyze legislative and regulatory changes in tax laws to devise and distribute strategies

• Enforce US corporate tax strategies and suggest methods to decrease corporate tax obligations

• Manage the Corporate Tax Division and ensure adherence to Corporate Tax rules

• Administer tax obligations efficiently.

• Proven experience in managing a Corporate Tax Department

• Strong knowledge and expertise in Corporate Tax Compliance

• Ability to manage and mitigate tax liabilities effectively

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Tax Coach (CTC) certifications are desirable but not required

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Strong leadership and team management skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
