Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:

Log in the arrival and departure of patients in the MTF’s hospital information system MHS Genesis. Send appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading via the PACS according to department protocol.


Receive patients and explain procedures, providing humane and appropriate care and communication to alleviate fear of the examination. Correctly position the patient for the examination and make technical adjustments necessary for the required examination. Determine if any special patient preparation is required.


Assist in coordinating schedules, daily logs, and data submission for monthly reports.


Perform Acute Care diagnostic studies and procedures. These studies shall include all variances of extremities, chest, abdomen, and head.


Research, contribute, and formulate new techniques for routine diagnostic procedures as required for performing emergent types of examinations.


Perform limited administrative duties associated with the maintenance of records for a hospital-based radiation safety program. This shall include monitoring all forms and records identified in the radiation safety manual to ensure they have been used and the data updated as required by the hospital’s license/permit

Requirements:

Degree/Education : American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Accredited program.


Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support : Possess American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiography and approved continuing medical education of twelve (12) hours within the last twelve (12) months.


Experience: Possess one (1) full year full-time experience as a diagnostic radiologic technologist within the preceding two (2) years, to include experience with digital imaging.


Licensure/Registration: Be a member of the ARRT-R registry


Additional Requirements: Provide two (2) letters of recommendation written within the last two (2) years attesting to the HCW’s clinical skills. The letters must be from a practicing radiologist who has personally observed and evaluated the HCW and who can attest to the HCW’s clinical skills in the care of patients. The other letter may be from a clinic or a hospital administrator, physician, or nurse who has personal knowledge of the HCW’s patient care skills in a similar clinical environment. Reference letters shall attest to the HCW’s communication skills and ability to relate to patients, as well as professional and other interpersonal skills among staff members and must include name, title, phone number, date of reference, address and signature of the individual providing reference
