Payroll Accountant Global Non-Profit

Our client prestigious global non-profit organization is seeking a Payroll Manage to ensures the timely processing of payroll transactions, ensuring payroll preparations and calculations, payroll accounting, tax filing and remittance, benefits maintenance, and various special payments are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that time and attendance transactions are accurately and completely entered and reviewed prior to processing semi-monthly payroll. By the close of the second business day following the end of each pay period, obtain appropriate approvals to close all open time transactions.
Ensure that organization's outsourced payroll provider correctly processes payroll transactions, produces direct deposits and paychecks, and remits taxes to the appropriate governmental agencies.
Work with the Accounts Payable Specialist and Accounting Manager to ensure that all garnishments and voluntary deductions are remitted to the appropriate organization.
Assist with unemployment and Workers' Compensation claims.
Assist with payroll quarterly tax returns and audits with federal and state income tax agencies and workers compensation in various states.
Assist with maintaining all aspects of time off procedures for the company, PTO, Floating Holiday, Union time off, etc.
Trouble-shoot and resolve employee, management and external inquiries regarding payroll issues.
Maintain secure payroll files including all payroll registers, employee rosters, employee change reports, quarterly tax returns, quarterly payroll summaries, W-2 forms, and documentation of approvals.
Ensure that adequate internal control procedures are followed and that transactions are documented and approved according to policy.
Respond to requests for information/audit work papers from external auditors in the preparation of financial audits.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field a plus
EXPERIENCE:
5+ years support staff experience in payroll
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Extensive organization skills
Ability to draft processes, facilitate process improvements and streamline operations.
Advanced knowledge of Paycom and FundEz/Sage Intacct accounting software
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
Immediate hire will be trained
