State of Art long term care facility is looking for an Assistant Director of Nursing with at least 2 years experience to oversee and manage the work and services provided by the nursing staff. As the ADNS, you are the second in command of the nursing department. You will work closely with the Director of Nursing (DNS) to improve the quality of patient care and services provided by your team. In the absence of the DNS, you will oversee the entire team ensuring quality customer service and compliance with all federal, state and local rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures set by your employer.

As the ADNS you will be heavily involved in hiring and training all nursing staff as well as nurse's aides. Additionally, you are required to create a work schedule and directly supervise the staff by monitoring the distribution of medications, blood draws and other elements of patient care. You may also have the responsibility of maintaining a budget, as well as supplies and inventory.

At times you may have to participate in direct patient care, and monitor the work of your nursing staff by going on rounds with them, which will require that you be on your feet for many hours throughout the day. Although you will report directly to the DNS, being a part of the executive leadership team, you may also work closely with other managers such as the medical director and administrator.

To secure employment as an Assistant Director of Nursing, you must be licensed as a registered nurse in the NYS and a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing along with some administrative and leadership skills or experience. This can be previous experience as a nursing supervisor in a long-term care facility, or graduate level education in nursing administration.

Salary is based on experience

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
