Our team is seeking an experienced Machinist with CAD/CAM Programing abilities. Candidates should be ambitious, creative, and energetic. Praxis is looking for someone that brings together the best aspects of creativity, innovation, technical knowledge, and passion. 

Job Summary 

Successful Candidates will work in a team environment that is responsible for supporting Praxis' assembly and manufacturing division with metal fabrication, including sheet metal fabrication, machined and additive manufactured parts. The candidates of the Custom Fabrication and Additive Manufacturing department will be working with the team on a variety of special projects for Praxis across a number of industries, including aerospace and defense, consumer product markets, entertainment, and more. Praxis' goal is to find candidates that will utilize their background, experience, imaginative thinking and hard work to assist in the development of the capabilities of the team, as well as the development of the department as we expand into new industries. 

Qualifications: 

Successful candidates should have experience or, at least, working knowledge of the following areas: 

1. CNC Milling and Machining. 

2. Machining software such as Mastercam. 

3. 3D printers with different print formats. 

4. Design software, eg. SolidWorks. 

5. Prototype development and innovative product design. 

6. Program development: create CNC programs for various machining processes using Mastercam. 

7. Toolpath Optimization: Develop efficient toolpaths to ensure precise and accurate part 

production. 

8. Collaboration: work closely with the Praxis Team to translate design specifications into functional 

programs. 

9. Prototyping: much of the machining that Praxis does is first run; the candidate will be responsible 

for assisting with efficient set up and processing. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities 

Cut sheet metal using a hydraulic shear and CNC laser (FiberCell FC5C) 

Program CNC laser using vector software (Corel) 

Program and operate CNC brake. Air brake experience is preferred. 

Have knowledge of K-factors for aluminum/steel sheet to calculate bends. 

SolidWorks experience preferred, to easily produce flat patterns utilizing correct K-factors. 

Read engineering drawings to choose appropriate sheet metal material. 

Precisely measure sheet metal and mark specific locations to comply with required specifications. 

Shape, drill, and bend sheet metal to fabricate parts of components to precise tolerances. Tig weld and bolt sheet metal to join pieces together.
