Business Intelligence Engineer

Location: Seattle, WA 98109 (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Interviews: 1st phone 2nd and 3rd in-person interviews
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders and customers to understand and document business requirements
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
- Drive operational excellence for data ingestion, transformation, and publication to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
- Adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation.
- Triage many possible courses of action in a high-ambiguity environment, making use of both quantitative analysis and business judgment
- More independent work than collaborative
- Successful attributes include the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences, the capacity to remain flexible and adept at learning new tools, and the ability to implement new systems within a team atmosphere. Our environment is deadline-driven and fast-paced and, therefore, requires detail-oriented individuals comfortable interacting or working with multiple teams (business and technical).
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- 2+ Experience with data visualization using Quicksight or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, Glue, and Redshift
- Experience in advanced SQL to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related technical/engineering field
- Problem Solving
- Understanding of data engineering
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc., and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Master's Degree in the technical or engineering field

- Ability to interact with large data sets
- High quality dashboards and reports
- Navigate ambiguous request and optimal solution
