Overview of the role: Accounts Payable Specialist

  • Implement and manage the 1099 process for multiple entities, including parent company, 9 LLCs, and an additional corporation, handling a high volume of transactions (50-300 checks per month per entity).
  • Review and analyze all financial transactions to ensure compliance with 1099 reporting rules, identifying applicable vendors and payments.
  • Organize and digitize existing 1099 records to streamline future access and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Collaborate with team members to collect W9 forms from vendors and verify transaction details for accurate 1099 issuance.
  • Develop and document detailed procedures and instructions for the 1099 process, creating a reference guide to support the team's ongoing success.

Preferred Qualifications: Accounts Payable Specialist

  • Knowledge of Sage 50 or any Sage accounting software is a must
  • Familiarity with how to implement 1099 process is a plus
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
