AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
Do you enjoy working with the latest technologies in the cloud, collaborating with multiple partner teams, and delivering impactful user-facing solutions which orchestrate the diverse set of activities within the vast global scale of AWS Data Centers.

We force multiply the output of our entire engineering organization, enabling hundreds of developers to concurrently deliver continuous innovation for our customers every day.
We are looking for a high caliber Software Development Manager to lead a talented multi-functional team of engineers to build the software used to operate our data centers, including those in the early phases of construction. Our software is as critical to getting a new data center off the ground, as it is to ensuring it runs like a well oiled machine, flexing to meet real world demand at scale. On this team, you will own the software roadmap for an area with strategic significance and high exposure. You will tackle some of the most intriguing problems in distributed software with a diverse global infrastructure landscape. This role requires deep technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to hit the ground running. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and customers to define solution strategies that are well vetted and drive them to fruition. You will be counted on to be an influential voice in decisions related to system architecture, feature development, and product strategy. As innovators, we embrace new technology and you will be empowered to guide the direction of the technology choices we make.
If you enjoy designing and building highly distributed systems at scale, come join us
