We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of a Permanent Director, Traffic and Transportation in our dynamic construction firm. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in civil, electrical, or systems engineering and a deep understanding of Intelligent Transportation Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all traffic and transportation-related aspects of our construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the planning, design, implementation, and management of traffic and transportation systems for all construction projects.
2. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
3. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that transportation plans align with project goals and objectives.
4. Develop and implement transportation strategies that optimize efficiency and safety.
5. Oversee the preparation of traffic impact studies, transportation master plans, and other related documents.
6. Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team on all transportation-related matters.
7. Evaluate the performance of transportation systems and implement improvements as necessary.
8. Establish and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, contractors, and other external partners.
9. Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in the field of transportation engineering and integrate them into our operations.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in civil, electrical, or systems engineering from an accredited institution.
2. Minimum of 8 - 10+ years of progressive relevant experience in traffic and transportation engineering, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Extensive knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems.
4. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale transportation projects.
5. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
7. Proficient in the use of transportation modeling software and other related tools.
8. Solid understanding of transportation regulations and standards.
9. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
11. Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus.
