LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a company located in Hillsborough, NJ to find a Controller for a direct hire position.
Job Title: Controller
Location: Hillsborough, NJ
Salary: $115,000 - $125,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm ET
Overview: The Controller is responsible for directing the company’s accounting operations, including establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures. This role involves preparing and presenting monthly financial reports, maintaining accounting records, and implementing controls and budgets to mitigate risk and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial reporting, including month-end and year-end close processes.
- Perform complex general journal entries and ensure compliance with accounting principles.
- Review financial statements for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Manage cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Assist in monthly variance analysis and troubleshoot financial issues.
- Prepare financial statements, forecasts, and analyses.
- Develop and implement internal controls for financial data accuracy and security.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team.
- Stay updated on accounting standards and best practices.
- Interface with audit firms, banks, lessors, credit card companies, and collection agencies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise 3 employees in the Finance and Accounting department.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 5-10 years of related experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and contract accounting.
- Ability to analyze and resolve issues related to unbilled AR and advanced billings.
- Experience with financial statements, consolidation accounting, and inter-company eliminations.
- Knowledge of sales & use tax, GST/VAT, and income taxes.
- Proficiency in general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, income tax, and banking.
- Strong managerial abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Deltek Costpoint and T&E preferred.
Pay Details: $115,000.00 to $125,000.00 per year
