Supply Chain Planner

Position Overview: LHH is seeking a Supply Chain Planner for a temporary contract in the Austell area of Atlanta. The Planner is a crucial role within the supply chain organization, focusing on scheduling inbound and outbound requests for an assigned processing center. This position requires excellent organizational and time management skills, the ability to balance short-term priorities, and strong problem-solving abilities. Key objectives include supporting processes to achieve, improve, and exceed target budgets and forecasts for volume, value, and quality of purchased supply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financially responsible for supply margins and account performance.
Manage inventory (Thrift/Library) for the assigned processing center.
Create and manage load requests.
Develop and manage buying plans.
Routinely report on performance and trends with suppliers.
Review and approve all supplier invoices.
Monitor accounts payable to ensure compliance with agreed terms.
Negotiate pricing and account terms as needed.
Assess potential risks associated with suppliers, such as supply chain disruptions or quality issues, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Stay informed about market trends, prices, and new product developments to make informed purchasing decisions.
Analyze costs related to purchasing, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes.
Manage the quality of the supply.
Gain a deep understanding of each account’s specifics.
Conduct onsite meetings with suppliers.
Manage Gaylord and pallet supply.
Serve as a subject matter expert in both Thrift and Library.
Attend conferences and tradeshows as needed.
Assist with troubleshooting supplier portal questions.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of supply chain (planning and procurement) experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing and maintaining customer relationships.
Proficient in computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
CRM experience is a plus.
Competencies:
Knowledge and understanding of supply chain concepts and applications.
Strong scheduling, planning, and organizational skills.
Critical thinking and effective negotiation skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to work well with a team as well as independently.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities.
Pay Details: $30.00 to $37.00 per hour
