Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Lab Coordinator to join our team. This role requires an individual who can effectively manage communication and logistics, conduct in-house laboratory tasks, and assist with experimental procedures. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and collaborative, with a knowledge in biology, tissue engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities
  • Lead general communication and forecasting with outsourced organizations
  • Ensure cross-team alignment on slide orders for all samples
  • Schedule pickups from Quicksilver
  • Manage the histology tracker to ensure it is up to date
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Assist with team logistics planning
  • Document equipment use, cleaning, and routine maintenance
  • Conduct in-house slide scanning
  • Organize glass and digital histology slides
  • Coordinate histological analysis of samples
  • Record and maintain data in accordance with protocols
  • Assist the broader R&D program with complex laboratory tasks such as tissue fixation as needed
  • Maintain laboratory records in accordance with written procedures
  • Plan, execute, document, and report work
  • Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials
  • Support immunofluorescence/immunohistochemistry staining as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Assist higher staff with experiments as needed
  • Prepare supplies required for procedures
  • Complete data analysis and presentation as needed
Essential Skills
  • 1+ years of experience working in the biotech industry
  • 2+ years of experience working with cellular analysis assays, preferably histology or immunohistochemistry
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to new problems
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter, reliable, attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm for a collaborative work culture and desire to make a positive impact
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • B.S./B.A. in Biology, Tissue Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
Work Environment

This consultant will be reporting to one of the higher Project Managers. The team consists of 4 members, including 2 higher Project Managers and 2 Data Engineers. They will also work closely with the R&D teams when scheduling samples. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge technology and research within the field of kidney research and opportunities to work with multiple R&D teams.

Pay Rate: $27-30/hr

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00
