• Must have at least 2 to 3 years AP experience
• Hourly position reporting to the Accounting Manager.
• HS Diploma or equivalent with a demonstrable ability to perform required duties.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Summary:
The Accounting clerk is a crucial position within the Accounting Department, tasked with performing various to maintain accurate and efficient financial records. This role includes daily filing and scanning of documents and assisting the finance department with projects like quarterly and year-end audits.
Strong multitasking and effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for success in the role. The Accounting Clerk is integral to the smooth functioning of the accounting department and the organization's overall financial well-being.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents and records.
• Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions. (e.g., Disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable and receivables.)
• Enters data to computer system using defined computer programs.
• Compile filing/scanning of accounting documents.
• Support finance department with projects to include quarterly and year end audits.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Understanding of basic accounting of principles and practices,
• Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in using spreadsheets and accounting software
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Capacity to handle confidential information
• Problem solving skills
• Flexibility to assist with special projects
• Dependability
Preferred skills and/or education:
• Undergraduate degree in business related area of study
• Prior accounting experience
• Experience with accounting software such as Expandable or salesforce
