Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to join their aerospace team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems in aircraft. This role requires expertise in electronics, systems diagnostics, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
System Installation: Install, configure, and calibrate avionics systems, including navigation, communication, and control systems, in compliance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Inspect and diagnose avionics systems to identify issues, using tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and regular maintenance on avionics equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all work complies with FAA or equivalent regulatory standards and maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
Upgrades and Modifications: Implement upgrades or modifications to existing avionics systems as required, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Testing: Conduct functional and operational tests of installed or repaired avionics systems to verify performance and reliability.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, flight crews, and maintenance staff to address avionics-related issues.
Qualifications:
Experience: 3+ years of experience as an avionics technician, preferably in the aerospace industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex avionics systems and familiarity with schematics and wiring diagrams.
Certifications: FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
Education: Associate degree or technical certification in avionics, electronics, or a related field.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of avionics systems, including GPS, radar, autopilot, and communications equipment.
Attention to Detail: High level of precision in inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing avionics components.
Physical Ability: Capable of working in confined spaces and lifting heavy equipment as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on commercial or military aircraft and general aviation aircrafts.
Knowledge of digital avionics systems and emerging aerospace technologies.
Familiarity with tools and software used for avionics diagnostics and programming.
