Part-Time BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) - School Setting

Position: BCBA
Hours: 10 hours/week
Location:Marshall, VA
Start Date: Immediate

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced BCBA to work onsite with a 7th-grade student who accesses an alternative curriculum program. This student is non-verbal, has autism, an intellectual disability, and a fluctuating hearing loss. The student has recently received hearing aids and uses a communication device, which is typically their preferred method of communication in the school setting. Additionally, the student is supported by a 1:1 aide at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
  • Experience working with students with autism, intellectual disabilities, and hearing impairments.
  • Strong knowledge of behavior analysis, communication systems (e.g., AAC devices), and special education.
  • Ability to collaborate with staff, parents, and the school community.
  • Compassionate, patient, and skilled in individualized teaching techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans tailored to the students unique needs.
  • Provide individualized support to enhance communication skills using the students communication device.
  • Collaborate with the students 1:1 aide, teachers, and other staff to ensure effective support strategies are in place.
  • Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff and caregivers to ensure consistency in behavior management techniques.
  • Support the student in accessing the curriculum and engaging in school activities.

Note: This position requires onsite presence as per the parents request for direct BCBA support.
