About the Position: Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a Sr. Tax Accountant to join a well-established Tax Planning and Advisory firm in the Englewood area. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with clients, partners, and staff to deliver comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services. Our client is looking for a driven and experienced leader who is eager to grow with the company and contribute to its continued success.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex tax returns for a variety of entities, including individuals and small businesses with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Conduct in-depth tax planning and research to identify strategies that minimize tax liabilities while aligning with client goals and regulatory requirements
- Act as the primary tax advisor for a diverse portfolio of clients, providing guidance on tax-related matters, financial decisions, and potential impacts of changing tax laws
- Respond to IRS and state tax authority inquiries and notices, including drafting correspondence, gathering supporting documentation, and representing clients in audits and negotiations
- Implement and manage accounting systems such as QuickBooks for business clients, providing customized bookkeeping and financial reporting solutions as needed
- Assist business clients with financial planning services, such as cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting, to ensure informed decision-making and effective tax planning
Qualifications:
- CPA or EA required (or actively pursuing/plan to pursue either credential)
- 3+ years' experience in tax preparation and advisory services
- Experience with QuickBooks and Lacerte is a plus, but not required
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a client-centric mindset
- A creative approach to tax planning and problem-solving is highly valued
