Job Description

Our client is a renowned Tier 1 Automotive Supplier specializing in manufactured metal stampings for various vehicles and aircraft. We are seeking an experienced Quality Supervisor with a strong in quality control and metal stamping to join our team. This role involves overseeing quality technicians and auditors, ensuring defect-free parts, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise Quality Leader and Quality Technicians (12+ Technicians) to ensure parts are free of defects.
  • Manage quality control for Stamping plants (Plant 1 & 3).
  • Create schedules for all shifts and authorize overtime hours to ensure continuity between shifts.
  • Handle scheduling, attendance, discipline, hiring, and firing.
  • Assist in the development of corrective actions, training, and coaching.
  • Back up various department positions as needed.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other quality departments including PPAP, CMM & Audits.
Essential Skills
  • 10+ years with quality
  • 6+ years as a supervisor
  • 8+ years in a stamping facility
  • Proficient in blueprint reading skills
  • Proficient in GD&T
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Experience with mics, calipers, and gages
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Reliable transportation
  • Experience in scheduling, attendance, discipline, hiring, and firing
  • Strong supervisory skills
  • Ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives

Work Environment

This is a stamping environment which is very loud and can get very hot during the summer. Employees must wear work boots, hard sole shoes, long pants, and no tank tops. The stamping plants (Plant 1 & 3) handle all the stamping, while Plant 2 is equipped with weld robots and spot welding resistant welding. The facility includes Minster and Wayne Trail Stamping presses up to 1,000 tons, with 10 press lines, 8 having PLC's and 2 with relay logic. The work hours are Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30pm/4:30pm, with some flexibility required for coverage.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesterfield, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $36.00
