Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are looking for a meticulous Inventory Clerk to join our team in the Aerospace industry, located in MONTVILLE, New Jersey. As an Inventory Clerk, you will be tasked with maintaining precise counts and inventory records, as well as managing incoming materials. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities
• Accurately maintaining counts and inventory records.
• Receiving, unloading, and verifying incoming materials against purchase orders.
• Unpacking, sorting, counting, repackaging, labeling, and logging inventory received.
• Inspecting shipments for damages or defects, recording any discrepancies or damages, and notifying the relevant supervisor or Procurement personnel.
• Delivering items to respective departments and obtaining authorized signatures for accepted items.
• Electronically transacting data into databases and MRP as needed, preparing routine reports and maintaining Receiving records.
• Training personnel to perform necessary technical tasks for Receiving.
• Preparing shipments for postal or commercial conveyance, determining the most economical and efficient shipping method, and ensuring safe delivery of items.
• Preparing bills of lading and checking items to be shipped against work orders to ensure correct quantities, destinations, and routing.
• Tracing lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments and initiating proof of delivery documents.
• Training personnel to perform required technical tasks for Shipping.• Must have a comprehensive understanding of the 'About Time' software
• Capable of effectively answering inbound calls and providing excellent customer service
• Must have experience in auditing and maintaining precise records
• Proficient in creating charts and graphs for data visualization purposes
• Must be able to perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, and photocopying
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze inventory data
• Must have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Knowledge of aerospace industry and inventory management will be advantageous
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with team members and suppliers
• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays if required
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, or related field is preferred
• Previous experience in an inventory clerk role or similar is beneficial.
