Assistant Property Manager
LHH is seeking an organized and motivated Assistant Property Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our low-income housing properties. The ideal candidate will have experience in property management, with a focus on affordable housing, and be adept at assisting with leasing, tenant relations, maintenance coordination, and ensuring compliance with housing regulations. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow their property management career in the affordable housing sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tenant Relations: Assist with addressing tenant inquiries, concerns, and complaints. Maintain positive relationships with residents and ensure a high level of tenant satisfaction.
  • Leasing Support: Help with the leasing process, including conducting unit tours, processing applications, preparing lease agreements, and ensuring tenant eligibility for low-income housing programs.
  • Property Maintenance: Coordinate and track maintenance requests, schedule repairs, and ensure properties are well-maintained and compliant with safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Compliance: Assist in ensuring properties comply with federal, state, and local housing regulations (e.g., Section 8, LIHTC, HUD). Maintain accurate documentation of tenant eligibility and income certification.
  • Rent Collection & Financial Management: Support rent collection, track payments, and assist in budget management. Work with the Property Manager to monitor financial performance and report any discrepancies.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist in preparing property reports, handling tenant communications, maintaining accurate tenant files, and performing other administrative duties as required.
  • Inspection Support: Participate in regular property inspections, documenting conditions and coordinating repairs or improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of [X] years in property management, with a preference for experience in affordable or low-income housing.
  • Education: High school diploma required; a degree in business, real estate, or a related field is a plus.
  • Certifications: Property management certifications (e.g., CAM, ARM) are a plus, but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
    • Proficiency in property management software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio) is a plus.
    • Knowledge of fair housing laws and low-income housing regulations is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, especially in maintaining tenant records and ensuring compliance with housing laws.


Pay Details: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour
