Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Waterjet Machine Operator with a strong background in operating water jet machines, reading and interpreting technical drawings, and utilizing precision measuring tools. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, particularly with CNC operations and quality inspections. This position requires physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials.
Responsibilities- Operate water jet machines proficiently.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Adjust water jet settings based on material properties.
- Utilize micrometers, calipers, and gauges for precision measurements.
- Perform CNC operations and quality inspections.
- Maintain a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Experience in machine operation, particularly with water jets, lathes, and mills.
- Proficiency in CNC operations and quality inspection.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials.
- Experience in manufacturing as a CNC operator or waterjet technician.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Work EnvironmentThe position is based in a medium-sized machine shop in Westminster, employing around 30 full-time employees. The shop specializes in producing precision components for major clients such as Northrop Grumman, Eaton, and Johns Hopkins. It maintains a clean environment and runs mostly similar jobs with slight variations daily. Available shifts include 1st (7am-3:30pm), 2nd (3:00pm-11:00pm), and 3rd (10:30pm-7:30am). The 3rd shift is not yet open but will be in the next 6-8 weeks, requiring initial training on the 1st or 2nd shift.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westminster, Maryland.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.25 - $45.67
