Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in CNC programming, particularly with Mastercam, and be comfortable working on the shop floor. This is a 3rd shift position in the tool room, where you will be responsible for programming and running CNC machines.

Responsibilities
  • Read technical drawings and set up machines in accordance with these blueprints.
  • Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly.
  • Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications.
  • Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
  • Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpening.
  • Train new team members on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs.
  • Assist other machinists and operators as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • At least five years of previous experience as a CNC Programmer in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • CNC Programming Certificate/Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience with Mastercam and programming from scratch.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or logistical problems.
  • Capability to work independently and closely follow directions.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
  • Availability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Previous experience in training and development of apprentice CNC Programmers/Operators.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with Haas machines and controllers is a plus.

Work Environment

This role is based on the shop floor, not in an office setting. You will be working in a typical stamping facility, which is loud and not the cleanest, but manageable. The facility includes presses (100-600 ton Progressive), MIG welding machines, and orbit-forming machines. The 3rd shift operates from 10pm to 6am/8am, Sunday to Friday, with some Saturday work depending on production demands. Expect to work 50-60 hours a week.

This is a direct-hire position based out of Mount Clemens, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $79040.00

Benefits once direct. Lots of work from Toyota, weekly OT.
Getting some new work for GM coming in, but Toyota is keeping them busy
