Role SummaryWe are looking for a compassionate and experienced School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. This role involves delivering specialized speech and language therapy to students, helping to enhance their communication skills and support their academic development.
Primary Responsibilities- Assessment and Evaluation: Perform thorough evaluations of students' speech and language capabilities. Develop customized education plans (IEPs) and set therapy goals based on each students needs.
- Therapeutic Services: Deliver direct speech and language therapy, focusing on areas like articulation, language comprehension, and effective communication strategies. Create engaging therapeutic activities to foster students' progress and academic achievement.
- Collaboration: Partner with teachers, special education teams, and parents to integrate speech and language strategies within the school setting. Participate in IEP meetings, sharing insights and recommendations to support student success.
- Documentation: Keep precise records of therapy sessions, student progress, and treatment plans. Prepare detailed reports for IEP meetings and ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines.
- Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest best practices in speech-language therapy and special education. Engage in continuous learning to refine your skills and expand your knowledge base.
- Education: Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Active Speech-Language Pathologist license in the state.
- Certification: Preferred certification with the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Experience: Previous experience in a school-based environment or with children with diverse needs is highly valued. Familiarity with IEP development and execution is a plus.
- Skills: Solid understanding of speech-language pathology principles, proven communication abilities, and strong teamwork skills. Adaptability to meet the unique needs of students in a collaborative setting.
