Job Description

We are seeking a skilled machine assembler for our South Bend, IN location. In this role, you will be responsible for fastening joints and seams in sheet metal using fasteners and drivers, ensuring that all work meets quality specifications and safety guidelines. This position involves working on ladders and being exposed to heights. You will be part of a team environment, and prior experience in construction will be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities
  • Screwing sheet metal panels together
  • Installing insulation
  • Using power tools such as drills, grinders, and plasma cutting equipment
  • Laying out, measuring, and marking dimensions and reference lines on materials
  • Utilizing calculators and tape measures
  • Fastening seams and joints together with bolts, rivets, caulks, and metal drive clips to assemble components into products
  • Drilling holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets
  • Assembling and fitting pre-fabricated parts to form subassemblies
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the work area

Work Environment

This position is within a fabrication shop environment, which can be darker, dirty, and loud. The company manufactures large control panels that sit on top of commercial buildings. Working hours are from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, with potential overtime on Fridays.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00
