Job Description

As an Environmental Service Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within patient rooms and other designated areas of the hospital. Your duties will include basic cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and pulling trash. Additionally, you will be required to clean bathrooms and ensure that the assigned floor remains clean and neat. Interaction with patients in their rooms is a part of the role, and it is essential to be courteous and polite at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic cleaning tasks in patient rooms.
  • Clean bathrooms thoroughly.
  • Pull trash and replace liners.
  • Sweep and mop floors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the assigned floor.
  • Interact courteously and politely with patients.
Essential Skills
  • 6+ months of cleaning experience in a commercial environment (industrial, hotel, hospital, school, corporate, etc.).
  • Ability to interact with patients politely with a customer service focus.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where blood and bodily fluids are present (though not responsible for cleaning them).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a hospital setting is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

This position is based at St. Francis Park, where you will be responsible for cleaning the hospital. The dress code includes red scrubs or a red scrub top and black scrub pants, with naturally occurring hair colors, nails trimmed to fingertip length, and minimal jewelry (stud earrings and wedding band). The shift is from 11 PM to 7 AM (7.5 hours a day), with opportunities to come in early, stay late, or pick up additional days to reach 40 hours. Candidates must be willing to work 40 hours and be available to work every other weekend.
