Job Description

In this position, you will be working directly with 2-5 others on one machine to efficiently package the finished materials as they come out of the machine. These machines are Roll Forming machines, and the main products they produce are metal shingles, siding, and gutters. Each machine will be operated by one Machine Operator II, and depending on which machine/product, you can expect to be working with 2-5 other Packagers (Machine Operator I). Each product is visually quality-checked to ensure no manufacturing defects are present.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with others in a fast-paced environment, ensuring everyone pays close attention.
• Make boxes, package, palletize, and move products.
• Use power tools such as drills, staple guns, and other pneumatic tools.
• Learn several machines and work with different groups daily.
• Perform quality checks to ensure no manufacturing defects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 6+ months in a manufacturing/production environment
• Mechanically inclined
• Hand and power tool experience
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inches and pounds using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to read and understand tape measures and calculators
• Bilingual (Spanish and English)

Work Environment

Industrial manufacturing environment, can get warm at times; machines are running so it can be loud as well. Must be comfortable lifting 50-75lbs on occasion. The work environment is exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and heat (proper PPE & safety training will be provided). The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The position is not temperature controlled, and doors are open in the summer, which can make it warm. The position is for the 1st shift (6x): 7am - 3:30pm M-F.
