We are offering a Part Time long term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Front Desk Specialist in Chicago, Illinois. The hours are Wednesday to Friday 9 -3pm. This role revolves around managing the front desk operations of a medical practice, ensuring seamless service and communication for patients. Your main duties will include answering and directing phone calls, scheduling appointments, assisting with billing, and maintaining an organized work environment.


NOTE: An ideal candidate for this role would be open to occasional Monday hours and/or working from their Glenview location.


Responsibilities:

• Efficiently manage inbound calls, ensuring that all inquiries are addressed promptly and accurately.

• Schedule patient appointments, taking into account the availability of medical professionals and the urgency of each case.

• Assist with billing functions, ensuring that all billing information is recorded accurately and payments are processed in a timely manner.

• Greet patients warmly upon arrival and departure, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.

• Handle mail and label tasks, ensuring all items are correctly distributed and categorized.

• Utilize the NextGen system for various tasks, including managing patient records and scheduling appointments.

• Provide general assistance to customers as required, addressing any concerns or inquiries they may have.

• Maintain an organized and efficient front desk, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

• Proven ability to answer and manage inbound calls efficiently and professionally.
• Demonstrated experience with billing functions, including preparing, sending, and tracking invoices.
• Ability to check patients in and out with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
• Proficiency in using NextGen software for managing patient records and scheduling appointments.
• Excellent customer service skills, with a track record of assisting customers effectively and courteously.
• Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) software to manage and analyze customer interactions and data.
• In-depth knowledge of medical billing procedures, including insurance claims and payment processing.
• Experience with certified mail, including preparing, sending, and receiving correspondence.
