Job Description:

ProCare Therapy is seeking a skilled and passionate School Psychologist to join our team for the 2024/2025 fiscal year. As a School Psychologist, you will provide a range of psychological services to support the mental health and educational development of students. This role requires expertise in assessment, consultation, and intervention strategies to promote students' academic, social, and emotional success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on assessment findings.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address emotional and behavioral issues.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement effective interventions and support strategies.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to students and staff as needed.
  • Offer consultation and training to teachers and staff on psychological and educational issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student evaluations, interventions, and progress.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and best practices in school psychology.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a School Psychologist in the District of Columbia.
  • Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing psychological services in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools, intervention strategies, and best practices in school psychology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and team members.
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional development and staying current with industry trends.
