Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Tacoma, Washington. This role is based in the healthcare industry and will focus on managing the company's payroll procedures. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, where your skills and expertise will contribute to the proper handling of employee compensation.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain accurate records of all employee working hours, including overtime, sick leaves, vacations, and others.
• Operate and utilize advanced Excel skills to evaluate payroll information effectively.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of all employees.
• Collaborate with the HR department to uphold firm policies and assist with audits.
• Resolve payroll-related queries or issues under strict deadlines.
• Stay updated with laws that could affect payroll, including tax regulations and benefit rules.
• Keep abreast of developments in UKG tools and advanced excel capabilities that could improve processes.
• Operate the UKG system for payroll procedures, ensuring precision and confidentiality.
• Prepare and deliver reports on payroll figures to upper management.
• Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements.• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services
• Familiarity with Ceridian payroll software
• Ability to operate IBM AS/400 system
• Experience with Kronos Timekeeping System
• Understanding of 401k - RRSP Administration
• Knowledge of About Time software
• Proficient in Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) processes
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
