Junior Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting a Consumer Products/Manufacturing company located in Midtown, NYC to fill a temporary Junior Accountant position. This role is expected to be 6+ months long with the potential for extension beyond that. This role is a unique chance to get involved in general accounting, budgeting forecasting, inventory analytics, and licensing/royalties accounting/analysis. Please read on for additional details
 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assisting in the month-end close by preparing journal entries, analyzing sales and cost of goods sold, and monthly expense analysis

  • Analyzing royalty agreements and monitoring outstanding payments. Working with Accounts Payable team to prepare outbound payments

  • Assisting with forecasting of expenses/sales/profit and preparing budgets; Working with team to prepare variance analysis and explanations

  • Reconciling corporate credit card statements and employee expense reports to ensure spending is in compliance with company policy

  • Assisting with Accounting/Finance related projects on an ad-hoc basis

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Consumer Products, Food & Beverage, Publishing, or Manufacturing industries

  • 1+ year of general accounting experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required, preferably in Accounting/Finance

  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookup)

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Length:

  • Temporary role, 6+ months long; potential to be extended

 Schedule/Hours:

  • 3 days in office (T, W, TH) and 2 days remote

  • 9 - 5 PM, 35 - 40 hour work week

Pay Details: $30.00 to $34.00 per hour
