Human Resources Manager
Location: Garden City, NY

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Human Resources Manager to join our team in Garden City, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, specifically within the restaurant or hospitality industry. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, performance management, training, and employee development. Your ability to analyze HR metrics and use data to improve HR processes and employee performance will be critical to the success of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead the recruitment process by identifying staffing needs, posting job openings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and managing the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Employee Relations: Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns, resolving conflicts, and ensuring fair treatment for all team members. Act as a liaison between management and staff, providing guidance and support when needed.
  • Performance Management: Develop and implement performance management systems to evaluate employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and support career development.
  • Training & Development: Coordinate and oversee training programs for staff, focusing on skill development, compliance, customer service, and leadership. Identify training needs and ensure team members receive ongoing development opportunities.
  • Compliance & Policy Management: Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies. Stay updated on relevant employment laws and ensure all HR practices are aligned with current regulations.
  • HR Analytics & Reporting: Analyze HR metrics such as turnover rates, hiring trends, employee satisfaction, and performance data to identify areas for improvement. Provide regular reports to management and suggest data-driven solutions to enhance employee engagement and retention.
  • Compensation & Benefits: Oversee employee compensation and benefits programs, including salary structure, benefits enrollment, and other employee perks. Assist in managing payroll and ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Workforce Planning: Collaborate with senior management to understand workforce needs and assist in strategic planning for staffing levels, labor costs, and scheduling to align with business goals.
  • Culture & Engagement: Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement by organizing team-building activities, employee recognition programs, and fostering an inclusive work environment.
  • Health & Safety: Monitor workplace health and safety standards, ensure adherence to OSHA regulations, and work with management to address any safety concerns or incidents.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in human resources, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HR functions, including recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Experience analyzing HR metrics and using data to drive decisions and improve HR processes.
  • Familiarity with restaurant-specific labor laws, payroll systems, and employee relations issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and foster a positive company culture.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required.
