Collections Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Customer Service and Collections Specialist to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely payments, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients. This position is temp to hire and will pay between $19 and $24/hr. depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person.
- Provide information about lease terms, payment schedules, and account statuses.
- Assist customers with resolving issues related to their leases and payments.
- Maintain positive relationships with tenants and address their concerns promptly.
- Contact customers to collect outstanding payments and negotiate payment plans.
- Monitor and manage accounts to identify overdue payments and potential risks.
- Document all collection activities and maintain accurate records of customer interactions.
- Work with the accounting team to reconcile accounts and ensure accurate billing.
- Review and analyze customer accounts to ensure compliance with lease agreements.
- Prepare and send out invoices, statements, and payment reminders.
- Handle the processing of customer refunds and account adjustments.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all financial transactions and communications.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure compliance with all relevant laws.
- Implement and follow company policies and procedures related to collections and customer service.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in customer service and collections, preferably in the commercial leasing industry.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in using customer relationship management (CRM) software and accounting systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
