Do you have experience growing plants in controlled environments? If the answer is yes, we have an exciting opportunity for you.Randstad has an immediate position for a Biologist with experience in horticulture / plant science. This position is located in St. Louis, MO and is a fully on-site position. Local candidates are preferred as relocation cost reimbursement is not available for this opportunity.

salary: $20 - $24 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

Perform duties in a greenhouse environment such as seeding, watering, thinning, moving and spraying of plants. You should have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a greenhouse environment. This position requires a high degree of diligence and accuracy is required to achieve high quality results in a safe and prudent manner. This position will require the selected candidate to be able to lift to 35 lbs.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, agronomy, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of various aspects of growing and maintaining plants, including weeds and crops, is highly desired.
• Possess good observational skills, be familiar with plant needs and be able to recognize stress or unusual growth conditions.
• Must be flexible and adaptable to respond to team priorities.
• Familiarity and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook is required as is the ability to learn and use other computer databases and programs.
• Ability to manage exposure to dust, pollen and work in elevated temperatures. Ability to work extended time on your feet, weekend responsibilities possible.
