Position Overview:
Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support a Learning and Behavior Disorder (LBD)for the 2024-2025 school year. This is a full-time, onsite position with a caseload of approximately 15 students, with para support available. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a positive and structured learning environment for students with a range of academic and behavioral needs.
Highest Need: The primary need for this position is within the elementary grade levels (K-5), though the position may include K-12 student support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with Learning and Behavior Disorders (LBD).
- Provide direct, one-on-one, and small group instruction tailored to the academic and behavioral needs of students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to promote student success.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom using evidence-based strategies.
- Support students in both pull-out and full-time placement within the LBD classroom.
- Regularly assess and track student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education services.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration regarding student progress, behavior, and IEP goals.
Requirements:
- Valid K-12 Special Education Certification in Learning and Behavior Disorders (LBD) for the state of Kentucky.
- Experience or strong willingness to work with students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
- Ability to develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for working with students to achieve their academic and social-emotional potential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and provide clear, structured instruction.
