Restaurant Controller
Location: Garden City, NY
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Restaurant Controller to oversee the financial operations of our busy restaurant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing budgets, analyzing financial performance, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in restaurant financial management to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Oversight: Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and update budgets and forecasts to align with business goals.
  • Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Cost Control: Implement and monitor cost-saving initiatives, including food and beverage cost controls and inventory management.
  • Audit and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and oversee internal audits of financial practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the management team to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage vendor contracts and relationships to optimize terms and costs.
  • Technology Integration: Oversee the integration and management of financial software systems, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
