Job DescriptionJob DescriptionRobert Half is seeking a contract to permanent Staff Accountant that has experience with property accounting to join our team in Vancouver, Washington. In this role, your focus will be on overseeing financial reporting, coordinating financial data transfers, and managing audits, among other responsibilities.
Responsibilities: • Oversee the financial reporting of operations, including monthly financial data transfers and report evaluations. • Conduct internal audits and monitor compliance with established financial control policies and procedures. • Coordinate the annual budget process and prepare related reports for both internal and external users. • Reconcile multiple balance sheet and income statement accounts and prepare related schedules. • Handle the financial reporting related to affordable housing development function, including project financing activities and budgeting. • Collaborate with accounting firms to prepare cost certifications and manage financial models related to existing and proposed real estate developments. • Oversee grant administration and funding, including periodic grant renewal documents and applications. • Maintain current knowledge of HUD financial regulations and advise the team accordingly. • Assist with other functions of the Finance Department, such as analysis of cash positions and reconciliation of various accounts, ledgers, and reports.• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field preferred • Advanced knowledge of financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliation is necessary. • Must have previous experience with HUD and General Ledger operations. • Experience in the affordable housing sector is required. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion. • Excellent problem solving/judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy. • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure. • Ability to multitask. • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
