Job Posting: Special Education Teacher (Onsite) Sandy Run, SC (38 miles south of Columbia)
Dates: ASAP May 29, 2025
Location: Sandy Run, SC (Approx. 1 hour from Charleston and South Carolina Beaches)
Full-Time: 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay: $40-$45 per hour, ($1,600-$1,800 per week)

Soliant Education is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher for a self-contained classroom in Sandy Run, SC. This is a full-time contract position for the 2024-2025 school year, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and dynamic educational environment.

Position Overview:

  • Grade Level: 3rd 5th grade
  • Classroom Structure: Self-contained classroom with 3 paraeducators, including 1:1 support for a nonverbal student
  • Student Population: Primarily students with learning disabilities, some students will be taking the SC ALT-exam
  • Classroom Support: 3 paraprofessionals, 1 working 1:1 with a nonverbal student

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction to students with a range of learning disabilities in a self-contained setting
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
  • Collaborate with paras, parents, and other educational staff to ensure student success
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and academic performance
  • Modify lessons and assessments as needed to meet the individual needs of students
  • Support students with behavior management strategies and assist in social-emotional development
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field
  • Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
  • Experience working with students with learning disabilities and/or developmental disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with paraprofessionals, staff, and parents
