Accounts Payable Manager - Minnetonka, MN
Shift: Days
Type: 3 months of contract with possible extension.

SUMMARY

The Manager Accounts Payable will oversee the preparation, recording, verification, and payment of vendor invoices for goods and services and client payments. The Manager Accounts Payable will be responsible for responding to vendor queries and supporting the business as it relates to payment analyses, identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies. The Mgr Accounts Payable further is expected to help develop, direct, and plan accounts payable policies and procedures, and ensure external and internal controls and policies are adhered to.

Responsibilities/Description

A/P Function

  • Oversee execution of vendor and client payments
  • Interface with high volume accounts payable and invoice management tool (Softco)
  • Prepare and/or review the required A/P monthly journal entries.
  • Review reconciliation of Accounts Payable and related accounts to General Ledger.
  • Prepare overall monthly balance sheet review variance comments for A/P.
  • Prepare audit work papers and manage auditor inquiries.
  • Drive process improvements and system automation within the A/P function.
  • Drive leadership from within the team for change recommendations and implementation methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the accounts payable function
  • Responsible for the tracking, review, and implementation of the company credit card program.
  • Direct and supervise Form 1099 processing
  • Assist in developing and implementing strengthened internal control policies and procedures (both systematic and user functional to ensure data integrity and safeguarding of assets), while minimizing manual effort to ensure compliance.
  • Assist the payables team in resolving account discrepancies by evaluating and approving investigations and resolving special cases

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field plus 7 years of related work experience.
  • Must possess a minimum of 2+ years of managerial experience in a high volume accounts payable department
  • Hands on experience with SAP or comparable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience
  • Demonstrated detail-orientation with strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Must demonstrate strong skills in: problem solving, financial analysis, cross functional communication and team leadership.
  • Experience with paperless Accounts Payable processing using work flow software

Preferred: 

  • Experience in a high volume accounts payable department
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience in a fast-paced, growing, ever changing environment
