Job Description

Perform preventative maintenance on rental equipment returning to the shop. Troubleshoot problems on all equipment using test equipment tools such as volt meters and scanners, service manuals, and service bulletins. Utilize all departmental reference materials, service, and parts manuals to assist with maintenance. Continuously update and study new processes and procedures to troubleshoot and repair equipment. Assist in training new mechanics as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on returned rental equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems using test equipment tools, service manuals, and bulletins.
  • Utilize departmental reference materials and manuals for maintenance assistance.
  • Continuously update knowledge of new processes and procedures for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Assist in training new mechanics as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Technical experience as a mechanic, either from industry experience or a technical degree.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a mechanic.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with diesel engines.
  • Ability to use test equipment tools such as volt meters and scanners.

Work Environment

You will work with a maintenance team of about 8 people within a 70-person facility. The company emphasizes teamwork and mutual support. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, eyeglasses, and work-appropriate jeans and shirts. The shift is Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, with additional Saturday hours from 8 AM to 12 PM during the busy season from Easter to Thanksgiving.
