Orientation and Mobility Specialist for Blind Students
Location:Macon, Georgia 31204
Hours: Full-Time -40 hours per week
Type: Onsite/In-Person
Caseload: Students with visual impairments
pensation: Hourly Rate + Overtime Rate (Negotiable upon experience)

- Bachelors or Masters Degree in OMS or a related-field
- State of Georgia GAPSC Teacher's License with endorsements in special education
- Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (S) credential through ACVREP, or eligibility to obtain certification.
Responsibilities:
- Assess students orientation and mobility needs and develop individualized plans.
- Provide direct instruction in safe and effective travel techniques, including cane use, orientation strategies, and environmental awareness.
- Teach students how to navigate their school, munity, and other environments safely and independently.
- Collaborate with parents, educators, and other professionals to support students goals and integrate orientation and mobility skills into their educational plans.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and regularly municate updates to the team.
