Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work for commercial construction projects.

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop comprehensive and accurate project estimates.

  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure alignment with project goals and budget requirements.

  • Research and source materials and subcontractors to ensure optimal project cost-efficiency and quality.

  • Review historical data to enhance estimating accuracy and refine cost models.

  • Present estimates and budgets to internal teams and clients, explaining variances and options as needed.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and by maintaining a thorough understanding of market conditions.

  • Utilize construction software (such as Procore) for efficient estimation and project tracking.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, cost fluctuations, and best practices to maintain competitive and accurate pricing strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field; OR equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating

  • Proven experience with commercial construction projects and a strong understanding of project budgeting and cost management.

  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore) and Microsoft Office, and SmartSheet

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
